“Baby Green” limited edition archival inkjet print on paper from an original painting by Joanna Zeller Quentin.
–Baby Green is loosely based off a charming photograph of my friend’s adorable warmblood baby, Hugo. Hugo and his big brother Rio have become quite the internet superstars, but I knew their mom (and star blogger) back in the day – in fact, she used to ride Frankers! It has been a joy to see this skillful, hardworking, and gifted rider move up the ranks with her horses, and the gorgeous image of her youngster captures all the potential we wish for our young horses – that they grow to carry the weight of our hopes and dreams on their backs – whatever they may be. The title came about after the painting absolutely INSISTED on that vibrant strip of emerald green right down the front of the face, no matter how I tried to argue against it. As with horses, you will never win an argument with a painting by force, only by finesse. The green stayed, and so did the name. –Jo Quentin
