“Bold, Accurate and Colorful” are three words often used to describe Joanna Zeller Quentin’s vibrant and powerful equestrian artwork. Taking care to realistically depict the sporthorse in all forms, Ms. Quentin is especially known for her hunter/ jumper, dressage, and eventing pieces. Her work breaks the bounds of conventional equestrian artwork with daring color and energetic brushstrokes that perfectly capture the speed, grace, and energy of the competitive horse and rider. Growing up in Naperville, Illinois Joanna began drawing animals – especially horses – as soon as she could hold a pencil, and riding lessons soon followed. At the age of eleven, she completed her first “official” portrait of a friend’s horse. She holds a degree in Illustration from Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL where she fell in love with the Gulf Coast.  Today she continues her professional career as a painter, commission artist, and fine art printer.

She has exhibited in shows and museums including the International Museum of the Horse, Equis Art Gallery, Devon Art Gallery, The Arts Castle, The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Louisiana State University’s School of Veterinary Medicine, the Arabian Horse National Futurity, and Cazenovia College, as well as other venues and juried shows. She has been a featured artist for HITS (Horse Shows in the Sun) and Southbound Show Management, and she has been the official Cover Artist for HITS Thermal Winter Show Circuit Program Guide in 2012, 2014 and 2015. Her award winning artwork has been widely published in the Chronicle of the Horse, Southwest Art, Sidelines, Horseback Magazine, The Equine Image, and Horses in Art. Joanna is a Juried Member of the American Academy of Equine Art and the International Association of Scratchboard Artists.  She frequently exhibits at nationally respected and juried shows for the American Academy of Equine Art, ISSA, and others.

Joanna is represented by the Equis Art Gallery (www.equisart.com) in Red Hook, New York.  She is proud to partner with Two Socks Designs on a line of embroidery and screenprinted products, and tack and gift shopss nationally carry her HoofPRINTS NoteCard sets.

She currently resides in Longwood FL with her husband, four dogs, two cats, a parrot, three turtles, and a Thoroughbred ex-racehorse turned jumper. In addition to maintaining a busy career as an artist and fine art printer, she is also an accomplished violinist.
